the residents of the private island just off the southern tip of miami beach rein as the highest per capita income of any place in the united states. the oceanfront enclave is home to the world’s wealthy and famous. originally constructed in 1988, the beachfront property was in disrepair as it had not been properly maintained by the previous owner in over thirty years. recently purchasing the property,
the new owner retained allen saunders design to transform the property back to its glory days.
taking on the project, the design team developed a new space plan to re-position rooms, allowing three bedrooms opposed to the original two-bedroom home, adding substantial value to the property.
a full gut renovation allowed for updated architectural finishes, lighting, and furnishings, all transporting the residence into in the present. the interior was fitted with clean line modern furnishings and feature lighting fixtures, creating a new ambiance. the color palette developed paid homage to the colors of the sandy beaches surrounding the home. large expanses of glass permit nature’s continual wheel of color to be cast into the space creating an ever-changing color scheme.
